
The Immortal High Gods, according to the pure teachings of the Orphic and Pythagorean Brotherhoods, are not merely products of human evolution and progress, like the Devas of the Oriental Wisdom; but more like the monotheistic God, with Zeus often as a leading character. All Gods are God, declares Proclus, of the later Platonic school whose works encompass the Mysteries of Plato, Pythagoras, and Orpheus.
